Sunday’s launch kicked off in spectacular style as we met the first four celebrities: John Barrowman, Rita Simons, James McVey and Sair Khan.
While the foursome were quick to get acquainted on a luxury yacht, they were soon joined by Dec and Holly, who explained they would be split into two teams.
John and Sair would head up team red, while James and Rita were in charge of team yellow, going head-to-head in a series of challenges to win the best camp.
Debut: Sunday’s launch kicked off in spectacular style as we met the first four celebrities: John Barrowman, Rita Simons, James McVey and Sair Khan
Tense: But quickly they were pitted against each other, going head-to-head to win the best camp through a series of challenges
The first proved a mean feat as they faced the heart-stopping task called The Edge, which Dec branded the highest bushtucker trial they had ever done.
Both teams had to climb up a precariously-placed beam to collect different numbered flags, with the fastest team being crowned the winner.
Rita and James were first up, and The Vamps singer seemed to be struggling with his tight jumpsuit, but they eventually succeeded in completing the task.
Oops! Although Holly struggled to keep up with the high stakes of the game, as when Dec showed her the red team’s time, she confessed: ‘I can’t remember the last one!’
They won! As the final times were revealed, Rita and James won out, and thus off they went in a helicopter to select their next two team members
But John and Sair also held their own in the challenge, with the Doctor Who star even adding his own vocal talents with a line or two from The Sound Of Music.

Next stars: The next four celebrities were then seen heading into the jungle with the help of a jeep, and they were Nick Knowles, Anne Hegerty, Fleur East and Harry Redknapp
The next four celebrities were then seen heading into the jungle with the help of a jeep, and they were Nick Knowles, Anne Hegerty, Fleur East and Harry Redknapp – who confessed he had never seen the show before.
In a quick decision for Rita and James, they chose to have Fleur and Anne on their team bringing them into their helicopter.
This left John and Sair with Harry and Nick, though neither seemed particularly disappointed with their new team-mates.
At odds: The two teams were next placed head-to-head in a jeep race, with the first team to complete the Hell Holes challenge able to choose their final team member
Tense: As they drove to the task, Harry joked that he wasn’t allowed behind the wheel of a car anymore after he ‘accidentally ran over his wife’
Nasty: After being dropped off at a lake, the teams found out that they would be racing head-to-head in jeeps, and were immediately met by a ‘toll booth’ of sorts
Scary: It was a tight-knit race as Ann and Harry searched for the tokens in the holes filled with crabs, and after speedily inserting them, the red team discovered that they had won

At this toll were precarious holes filled with tokens, that would be inserted in the fastest time to win the challenge.

Scary: Meanwhile we were finally introduced to her last two campmates – Emily Atack and Malique Thompson-Dwyer
Terrifying: After Malique was chosen to join the winning red team, they were both told they would be making their entrance in camp via. skydive
Meanwhile we were finally introduced to her last two camp-mates – Emily Atack and Malique Thompson-Dwyer – who were quickly told they would be making their arrival in camp with the help of a skydive.
But first they were told that the red team had chosen Malique to join their team, leaving Emily as a member of team yellow.
Luckily Malique completely the task with ease as he flung himself out of the helicopter, despite his crippling fear of heights.
For Emily it proved a much tougher feat, as she repeatedly said ‘I am brave, I am strong,’ before launching herself out of the helicopter.
With the two teams finally complete, they were all put up for the next task, a final water race, where the winner would earn the best camp AND immunity from the first two Bushtucker trials.
Donning life jackets the teams were placed in boats to row their way to the pontoon containing all of their jungle gear.
Sadly for the yellow team, things ended in disaster as their boat quickly capsized, while the reds smartly used John as extra speed with him paddling the boat from the rear.
After winning the challenge, Nick embraced his inner Jungle Jim by launching himself into the water to rescue the others, who were struggling to pull their gear through the water.
