The VERY clever make-up trick Meghan uses to highlight her ‘best features’

The Duchess of Sussex has become known for her pared back beauty look and keeps her make-up natural to allow her freckles to shine through, however there is one area that she can never resist highlighting.

At last night’s Royal Variety performance, Meghan accentuated her décolletage with a liberal application of glittering highlighter, and it’s not the first time she’s used the showstopping beauty trick.

In fact, her love of off-the-shoulder and boat neck styles lends itself to a sweep of highlighter across the collar bone, and now that she’s expecting her first child the technique only serves to boost her pregnancy glow even further.

Award-winning celebrity makeup artist Stacey Whittaker told Femail: ‘I think Meghan’s makeup artist will have advised her that this technique will give her that glow that looks so stunning and healthy and will work beautifully during her pregnancy too.

‘Using highlighter in this way exudes radiance and beauty so I think Meghan will be choosing to go for this look because of this, and it simply compliments her best features.’

She’s glowing! Pregnant Meghan accentuated her look with a sweep of glittering highlighter all over her décolletage as she attended the Royal Variety Performance at The London Palladium last night

The Duchess’s go-to beauty look is dewy, radiant skin that allows her freckles to shine through, all-over highlighter, nude lips and smoky eyes.

Her favoured look was very much in evidence during her recent appearance on Armistice Day service at the Cenotaph earlier this month, when she opted for a dewy ‘Hollywood-style’ look.

The mother-to-be, who is expecting her first child with Prince Harry opted for a sultry smokey eye in soft shades of lilac and brown – and added highlighter on her cheekbones to ensure she looked great from ‘every camera angle’.

However, Meghan is clearly keen to make sure she’s glowing all over, and not just on the face.

‘I think it’s an attempt to bring her look together and give the appearance of an overall glowy, dewy finish that extends beyond her face,’ Stacey explained.

And the Duchess’ love of off-the-shoulder and boat neck tops allows her to show off the make-up trick perfectly.

‘It could be why Meghan likes to wear styles like this, definitely,’ Stacey said.

‘I tend to find with my clients that if they happen to be wearing an off the shoulder style or something similar then we will discuss adding a pop of highlighter to the collar bone instead of designing an outfit around this.

It is a style that really suits Meghan though so it is no wonder she opts for this kind of look often.’

If you are looking to emulate Meghan’s look, Stacey recommends a cream product rather than a powder.

The Nars Illuminator in the shade Hot Sand is perfect for this. You can apply with your fingers, a brush or a damp sponge and it is super quick and easy,’ she advised.

Simply apply to your collar bone and the high point of your shoulder so it catches the light beautifully and adds that bronzed, golden finish to your look.
