Ten sailors face the axe from the Navy over sickening sex acts in a country pub in front of shocked members of the public
- Sailors filmed lewd acts at Red Lion pub before uploading them onto Instagram
- Royal Navy personnel refused to moderate their behaviour at Cornwall pub
- At least one sailor has been removed from duty while investigation continues
Ten sailors are facing serious disciplinary action after carrying out sickening sex acts in a country pub in full view of members of the public – triggering investigations by military and civilian police.
The graphic details of their lewd conduct are contained in an incident report obtained by The Mail on Sunday.
To the horror of Royal Navy top brass, the sailors also filmed the indecent acts and uploaded them on to social-media site Instagram.
The sailors could be booted out of the Armed Forces for bringing the Navy into disrepute following the incident at the Red Lion pub in Helston, Cornwall, on February 24
Last night, pub landlady Hayley Nicholas branded their behaviour ‘disgusting and completely unacceptable’ and explained how the drunken personnel from 820 Royal Naval Air Squadron refused her pleas to moderate their behaviour.
The sailors could be booted out of the Armed Forces for bringing the Navy into disrepute following the incident at the Red Lion pub in Helston, Cornwall, on February 24.
At least one of them has been removed from operational duties at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose in Cornwall pending the outcome of police investigations into the incident, which took place in the pub’s pool room.
Last night, Ms Nicholas said: ‘They should face action for what they did. It might be their idea of a joke but it was appalling in a public place.

They’ve made a big mistake. Their actions were recorded on the pub’s CCTV cameras and the tapes are now being reviewed by military police.
‘Local civilian police officers have also made inquiries.
‘Usually when they come in here the Navy guys are polite and respectful but not this time.
‘We tried putting a stop to it when we saw one of the men take his trousers down but they didn’t take any notice of us.’
The Mail on Sunday has seen the Royal Military Police’s incident report, which describes the indecency in a public place and how the Royal Navy personnel were ‘rowdy and disruptive’.
It says: ‘CCTV footage taken within the Red Lion pub in Helston shows a Petty Officer [Identity Redacted] appearing to engage in an indecent act while in the bar lounge and in full view of the public and other Service Personnel (SP), some of whom were filming the incident on their mobile phones.
‘The incident is known to have been uploaded on to social media (Instagram) and been discussed on Facebook. Awaiting a civilian police decision on prosecution.
‘The group of SP were generally rowdy and disruptive and several other incidents were also captured on CCTV.’
Last night, a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: ‘We have been informed by the Navy police of allegations related to an incident of public indecency. We will be liaising with them in an investigation.’
A Royal Navy spokesman said: ‘An investigation is ongoing and therefore it would be inappropriate to comment further.’
