  • Third Wave Cafe in Melbourne has launched its most outrageous offering yet
  • A mountain of food, which costs $52, is built on a mac ‘n’ cheese pancake
  • The giant meal, designed for two, comes with pork nuggets and chicken wings
  • Cheese sauce is also a feature as are bacon-wrapped pickles and salted corn

A Melbourne eatery has just launched a mac ‘n’ cheese pancake in what they believe to be a ‘world first’.

The quirky dish is the brainchild of Third Wave Cafe, a restaurant known for its wacky and creative offerings, and costs a staggering $52.

The calorific creation is designed to be shared by two diners or more and given how much food is served along with the pancake its easy to see why.

The gargantuan meal comes with pulled pork nuggets, smoked chicken wings, skewered corn on the cob, bacon wrapped pickles and oink balls (pork meatballs, wrapped in bacon).

Topping it off is lashings of hot cheesy sauce.

When news broke that the pancake was set to be featured as part of the cafe’s specials for March, social media went into meltdown.

Fans of the eatery took to Facebook in their droves to declare they’d been all too willing try to the mountainous creation.

As well as streams of commenters tagging in others they thought might enjoy the feast, some appeared genuinely floored by the restaurant’s offering.

It would seem March is the month for mega meal creations by Third Wave who also launched 3.5kg BBQ Tub Challenge just days after its mega mac ‘n’ cheese pancake.

The meal, priced at $94.50, is also designed to be devoured by two people, however, it is an dish which comes with a twist.

If you and your friend can consume the meal in under 15 minutes, the entire thing is free.

Be warned though, this enormous treat isn’t for the faint-hearted.

And if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a double Royale Burger, onion Rings, sweet potato chips and cornbread cheese waffles.

‘Comes on scales to your table so you see how slow you are eating it. Bring a friend or a partner and DO IT TOGETHER’,’ a statement on the cafe’s website reads.
