If you want to soak up some views while you’re taking a swim, then you might want to check into one of these sky-high hotels.

Among the selection is a pool on the 42nd floor of the Parker Meridian in New York boasting sweeping views of Central Park and an equally impressive bathing spot on the 52nd floor of the Shangri-La in London.
In Tokyo, the luxury Aman hotel has a swimming pool more than 30 stories high and the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore is known the world over for its cloud-grazing infinity pool perched 650 feet up.
For those with a real fear of heights, the pool at the Holiday Inn in Shanghai might be one to avoid as it has a glass-bottomed cantilevered pool, allowing swimmers to look down to the street below.

The Shangri-La London, located in the Shard, boasts a stunning infinity pool on the 52nd floor, with large windows. The hotel’s 36-foot-long heated Skypool is open exclusively to guests from 6am to 8pm. It faces west across the city to provide views of St Paul’s Cathedral, the London Eye and Westminster
Perched on the top six floors of the 38-storey Otemachi Tower is the Aman Tokyo. The luxury hotel houses a spa featuring large Japanese-style hot baths and steam rooms, plus a light-filled pool with panoramic city views. The spa is open from 10am to 10pm
At the Parker New York hotel there is a swimming pool in the 42nd floor boasting sweeping views of Central Park through floor-to-ceiling windows. It stays open until 10:30pm during the week, so swimmers can watch the twinkling Manhattan skyline come alive. There is also an outdoor sundeck for tanning and a menu offering drinks and snacks such as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The pool is free to use for hotel guests and memberships can be purchased for non-guests
The Okura Prestige Bangkok Hotel, located in the heart of Bangkok’s business district, has a heated infinity pool on the 25th floor with unparalleled views of the city. The pool is on the north face of the building and the hotel notes that it stays mainly in the shade. Relaxation loungers are located around the pool and a food and beverage menus are also available. The pool is open daily from 6:00am to 10:00pm
The towering Marina Bay Sands hotel, which sits right in the heart of Singapore’s bustling business district, is well-known for its outdoor infinity pool. It boasts stunning views of the cityscape from the 57th floor. At three times the length of an Olympic pool and perched 650 feet up, it is the largest outdoor pool in the world at that height. The hotel notes: ‘You won’t find a more spectacular photo-taking spot anywhere in Singapore!’ The pool is open from 6am to 11pm daily
At The Ritz Carlton in Shanghai, there is a spa and fitness complex on the 55th floor. The indoor heated pool overlooks the breadth of the city and the Bund waterfront area. The pool is open from 9:30am to midnight
At the InterContinental in Bangkok there’s a tropical-styled outdoor pool and bar on the 37th floor. The area is walled in, but there are glass partitions, so that swimmers can make the most of the city views. The pool is open from 7am to 10pm
Standing tall in the heart of Panama City, the 66-storey Hard Rock Hotel Panama Megapolis is home to a rooftop infinity pool with views of the city skyline. The pool area – described as a ‘futuristic tropical oasis’ – also has bar, which is open to non-guests. The pool is open from 8am to 8pm
On the 33rd floor of Traders Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, guests can soak up some of the best views of the Petronas Twin Towers while doing laps in the indoor pool. The bathing spot is open from 6am to 7pm and other facilities in the fitness area include a 24-hour gym, sauna and steam bath. By night, the pool area transforms into quite the party spot courtesy of the award-winning SkyBar, which serves up a variety of cocktails, nightly DJs and amazing views
