Liverpool planning TWO separate victory parades

Liverpool plan TWO victory parades as they prepare separate celebrations for Premier League and Champions League triumphs

  • Liverpool go into final two games of their season with two trophies on the line
  • The Reds have prepared separate victory parades around the city
  • Premier League parade would be on May 13, Champions League one on June 2

Liverpool have made plans for two separate victory parades should they win the Premier League and the Champions League.

The Reds go into the final day of the domestic season on Sunday still with a chance of winning their first league title since 1990, needing to beat Wolves and hope Brighton can stop Manchester City from winning on the south coast.

And they have a shot at a second trophy too after their Anfield heroics on Tuesday saw them edge past Barcelona to reach the Champions League final on June 1.

Should they win the league, Jurgen Klopp’s men will enjoy an open-top bus parade on Monday 13 May – the day after the season finishes.

Victory in Madrid against Tottenham will see them return to Merseyside to show off the trophy on June 2.

Both parades would begin at 4pm.

Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson told Liverpool Echo: ‘Whichever team you support, there is no doubting the positive impact sporting success for each of our clubs has on the city, not just economically but also in terms of a feelgood factor.

‘It rightly generates huge pride and attracts massive international attention.

‘If the Reds win one or two trophies, they will receive a well-deserved heroes’ welcome and we will put on a show to make the city proud.’
