Kane has been back in training for Tottenham while in Madrid, but hasn’t played since April 9
Earlier in the week, Kane declared himself fit enough to play in the arguably the biggest match in Tottenham Hotspur’s history.
‘If the final was today I would be fit to play,’ he said on Monday after resuming full training with the first-team squad on Friday.
‘I feel good. I started to feel my way back with the team at the end of last week. There have been no problems so far. For me, this week now is to get the fitness as high as possible. Then it’s down to the manager.’
The England striker has scored 17 times in the league and has five in the Champions League
The striker has scored 17 times in the league and five times in the Champions League so far this season. Even Liverpool star Mohamed Salah wanted Kane to start the match, saying he wants to test himself against the game’s top players.
The Egyptian forward missed out on the majority of last year’s Champions League final because of a shoulder injury suffered in the first half.
‘We believe, and we feel in the last few weeks he was ready to compete,’ said Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino just before the game. ‘He was given time to feel the emotion and determination and I think yesterday we confirmed it was complete and he was ready to play.’
Kane starting the match won’t be taking Liverpool by surprise, though.
‘We expected it,’ said Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, while saying they had also prepared for Lucas Moura. ‘The quality is massive, what they have up front.’
