‘No one wants to get that news’: Ben Fordham reveals his father John’s throat cancer has returned during an emotional interview on Sky News
Ben Fordham has confirmed that his dad’s cancer has returned.
The 42-year-old journalist made the announcement during an interview with his father, John Fordham, on Sky News on Thursday.
Ben invited the 75-year-old celebrity agent to discuss his career in the media as well as his head and neck cancer, which he was first diagnosed with two years ago.
Ben explained to viewers that John first suspected he had cancer during a family holiday in 2017.
‘I remember my sister Sarah saying, “Oh what’s on your neck?” and you told her, “Oh it’s a strained muscle or something”,’ Ben said.
Unfortunately, the lump on John’s neck turned out out to be something more serious.
‘That was a shock, no one wants to get that news,’ John said of the initial diagnosis.

Thanks to the help of ‘some incredible doctors’, John was able to successfully treat his cancer, but the disease has since returned.
Two weeks ago, the entertainment industry veteran was told by his doctor, Professor Havas, that ‘we’ve got a problem here’.
‘So now I’m back into another challenge, I’m back into full treatment and right in the middle of it now,’ John added.

After the interview, Ben took to Instagram to share a photo of himself and his father in the Sky News television studio.
‘I was lucky to chat to my dad on TV tonight. Sadly his cancer is back but he’s fighting hard. Love ya, Jack,’ he wrote in the caption.
Many of Ben’s friends and colleagues left supportive comments, including The Daily Edition’s Sally Obermeder, who wrote: ‘Sending you all much love and strength.’
