Emergency crews are working to rescue a trapped miner following a collapse at a Central Queensland mine.
The miner is understood to have been operating a digger before the accident at Middlemount Coal Mine at midday on Wednesday.
The digger is understood to have been on a shelf of the mine before the wall collapsed and trapped its operator.

Queensland Fire Emergency Service told Daily Mail Australia rescue crews were working to safely remove the miner from the scene.
Queensland Ambulance Service said the site had been deemed ‘unsafe’.
‘The contents of a wall have entrapped the machine with a person inside.
‘Emergency workers remain on scene while it is being stabilised, before they can make a full assessment of the patient.’
Middlemount Coal Mine is an open-cut mine that began full-scale operation in 2011.
The site turns over more than four million tonnes of coal every year.
