Penny Lancaster reveals she was ‘attacked by vicious classmates until she bled’ as she candidly talks about her past bullying ordeal

Penny Lancaster has revealed that she was attacked by vicious school bullies until she bled.

The model, 48, who is married to Rod Stewart, 74, broke down in tears in a video for an anti-bullying campaign by the charity The Diana Award in which 25 celebrities recall their experiences with childhood bullying.

In one of the nastiest attacks Penny faced, she was followed home from school by two girls and a boy who they encouraged to ram his bike into the back of her legs, causing them to bleed.

‘I ran home to my mum crying. I thought I was strong enough to deal with the bullies,’ Penny said in the video, which was obtained by The Telegraph.

In another incident, Penny was pelted with eggs and flour by a group of girls on her last day of school.

The mother-of-two began to cry when she looked at a photo of herself taken during her time in secondary school.

She told how the bullying started after other students made fun of her height.

‘The bullying started with just name calling. I was different because I was taller than not just the girls but the boys – Penny long legs,’ she said.

Penny also revealed she was targeted because she wore her hair in a neat bun for ballet classes, which other students would deliberately pull and mess up.

She added that bullies would slap her on the back of the head and call her ‘spam head’.

In the video, Penny revealed she suffers from hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, which can effect certain areas of the body such as the palms or the soles of the feet.

Penny held her hands up in the video to show that her hands started to sweat when recalling the bullying.

‘Just talking about the bullying, my hands are dripping right now. It is like I have just run them under a tap,’ she said.

The Diana Award campaigns for every school to have anti-bullying ambassadors who could counsel younger students.
