Virgil van Dijk dismissed suggestions that he was close to agreeing a new contract with Liverpool almost two years after joining the club from Southampton.
The Dutchman has established himself as one of the world’s best defenders at Anfield, winning the Champions League last season and finishing Premier League runners-up by one point.
However, with his current deal running until 2023, van Dijk insisted he is in no rush and wants to focus on his football.

‘There is nothing going on, so that’s it,’ Van Dijk told Sky Sports
‘That’s not on me! I saw some reports in the media that I was agreeing a new deal and stuff.
‘But I’m not even discussing anything at the moment. The only thing I want to do right now is focus on the games and we’ll see in the future what may happen.’
