A cheeky boyfriend spent six weeks secretly ‘proposing’ to his girlfriend by hiding a diamond ring right in front of her before finally getting down on one knee.
Colton Vaters, 23, purchased an engagement ring five months ago and was excitedly planning how he would ask Danielle Campbell, 25, for her hand in marriage.
‘I knew that I wanted it documented (and I knew she did too) so I talked to a few family members about it,’ Colton, from Ontario, Canada, told FEMAIL.
There she goes! A cheeky boyfriend has proposed to his girlfriend in a surprise photoshoot – after spending the past six weeks secretly ‘proposing’ by hiding the diamond ring around their house

‘I did some researching of proposal ideas and I saw one about doing it during a photo shoot to catch her reaction during real time. She also loves to get pictures done so it wasn’t suspicious when I asked if she wanted to.’
He was also inspired by Edi Okoro, 30, who went viral on social media in August after spending a month proposing to his girlfriend Cally Read, 28, without her knowing.
‘This to me sounded like a lot of fun,’ Colton said.
‘I started taking the ring with me everywhere I went and taking as many photos as I could without her noticing. I also left the ring in various spots throughout the house for different periods of time.’

He placed it on her bag, on her back while she was asleep, in amongst her jewellery collection and in her car in a bid to take the most daring photos
Sometimes he left the ring in one place for as long as three days with Danielle suspecting anything was awry (pictured here driving together in the car)
He tried his best to choose times she had her back turned but there were a few close calls
Colton even placed the ring on a key chain that hangs off one of her handbags

‘I really hoped she wouldn’t notice the ring, or me taking the pictures, because if she did I would’ve proposed then and there,’ he said.
He was still snapping funny images right up until the morning of the proposal, which saw the pair assemble for a photo shoot – with Colton bending a knee behind her
He tried to keep the hidden places as creative as possible and often used materials from around the house
Even in the gym! He brought the diamond sparkler with him while they exercised together
She was visibly surprised by the appearance of a ring that day but she was even more shocked when Colton showcased the catalogue of images
‘But it all went to plan and I would highly recommend this to anyone planning on asking the big question in the future. It was a cool way to make the proposal fun, and take the stress away.’

Edi Okoro, 30, (pictured) purchased a diamond ring earlier this year with the hope his lady love Cally Read, 28, would say ‘yes’ to a marriage proposal
‘We laughed together for at least an hour and a half,’ he said.
It comes just one month after Edi Okoro, from England, staged his own proposal over four weeks.
Edi knew that if he started concocting an elaborate scheme his girlfriend Cally would read into it immediately and ‘clock on’ to what he was doing.
‘So the idea was to take as many photos, in more daring scenarios, until I found the perfect moment to propose or until I got caught, at which point I would propose,’ he said.

‘Some plan a flash mob, a fancy meal, or even arrange a marry me sign. I couldn’t do this because “Edi doesn’t plan”… I’m a spontaneous improviser,’ he said

For four weeks he playfully played the game until the moment finally arose.
Edi is yet to reveal how he actually proposed but he did confess that she said yes and he wasn’t caught with the ring beforehand.
