Shocking moment speeding mountain biker jumps over a black BEAR on a downhill trail in Canada

A biker ended up jumping over a black bear as he careened down a mountain in Canada.

The cyclist was travelling at speed at the Whistler Bike Park in Whistler, British Columbia at a venue which is specifically designed for mountain bikers to push themselves to the limit.

In a brief three-second clip, the biker can be seen launching into the air as he comes off the side of a slope.

The black bear appears to be completely unawares as to what is happening as the bike soars right over him. 

By the time the animal scurries out of the way, the cyclist has long since passed and is continuing his journey down the hillside.  

‘I was riding the Whistler Bike Park when I almost hit a bear mid-trail. The bear was standing right on the landing of a jump, when another rider yelled at me to stop. I almost ran into the bear but managed to stop, then ran back up the hill to warn other riders,’ wrote one biker on YouTube.

‘One rider didn’t seem to get the message and dropped into the jump over the bear. I hardly had enough time to film it as he jumped over it. Both the rider and bear were fine. Five seconds later, the bear returned to eating grass completely unphased.’
