During their 2-0 victory away to Lokomotiv Moscow in the Champions League, the entire Atletico team was seen swarming on their opponents, who were looking to break forward. 

All of the Atletico players charged back, helping Simeone’s side to keep a clean sheet.

Atletico’s defending drew widespread praise on Twitter, with Colin Millar, for instance, writing: ‘Atletico Madrid players make defending a counter attack an art form.’ 

Former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise was amongst those to praise Simeone’s tactics.

Goals from Joao Felix and Thomas Partey were sufficient for Atletico to prevail.

Atletico are currently in second place in Champions League group D having taken four points from their first two games.
