Inside the wardrobes of the stars: Australian woman who organises celebrity closets for a living opens a website SELLING women’s unwanted luxury items

  • Katie Fowler, from Sydney, has organised plenty of fashionista’s closets
  • The former content producer has helped Nadia Fairfax and Kate Waterhouse
  • She has now started a website called The Robe selling women’s luxury items
  • They are at discounted prices online because of their pre-loved nature

An Australian closet organiser has launched a store selling women’s pre-loved luxury items and explained how she clears out a wardrobe effectively.

Katie Fowler, who was a former content producer for the Who What Wear Network, left to pursue a Marie Kondo-type career organising wardrobe spaces.

Living in Sydney, she got her first big organising job with blogger Nadia Fairfax earlier this year before working alongside horse racing darling Kate Waterhouse and model Yan Yan Chan.

Nadia was looking for a ‘functional dressing space’ so Katie made space by finding a home for every item and installed custom-made shelving wardrobes.

In Kate’s bathroom cabinet she put all of her ‘everyday’ items on the bottom shelf, so they were within reach, and placed less used items higher up the shelving.

Any products the mother-of-two had multiples for – like Bondi Sands fake tan, Tan In a Can by Model Co and Sally Hansen’s Illuminator – were placed together in a row, making it an easy experience to find her favourite products in the morning.

'We usually take everything out, sort into piles, categorise and then see what storage accessories we need,' Katie told Husskie

‘Then I go in and re-organise to ultimately make more space. Each organising project is bespoke and unique to our clients’ needs.’

But during the process of cleansing Katie’s clients weren’t sure what to do with the lavish and designer products they no longer needed.

So she launched a website, The Robe, to help them sell the likes of Stella McCartney, FENDI, Nanushka, SIR, Bec + Bridge and Bassike to new owners.

They range in price from as little as $40 to $4,000 depending on whether they are vintage, brand new or used.

All of the pieces will be shot on a model so customers can visualise what a Dolce & Gabbana purse might look like over their shoulder or a Stella McCartney pair of flared pants on their legs.

The website has only just launched so there is limited stock available but the more clients Katie works with the more items there will be.

There is currently a Rebecca Vallance dress ($399), a Chloe wool jacket ($480) and Prada platforms ($350) for sale, with an incredible pair of Chanel leather sneakers for $575.
