Mummy Diaries EXCLUSIVE: Sam Faiers and Paul Knightley recreate their first date in 2015

She made their relationship official in April 2015 after she shared a selfie of the pair on a punt to Instagram.

And Sam Faiers decides to recreate her Cambridge punting date with partner Paul Knightley on Wednesday’s episode of The Mummy Diaries.

The former TOWIE star, 28, organises the romantic trip after revealing on the show that they haven’t been out for dinner just the two of them since she welcomed their second child, Rosie, 23-months in November 2017.

Yet it doesn’t take long until the couple remark on how much older they look since the 2015 photo, with Sam and Paul joking that he’s put on four stone and gone grey.

Ahead of the date, Sam admits: ‘I really want to arrange a date night, because we haven’t been out for dinner just us two since before we had Rosie… and that’s just ridiculous.’

The mother-of-two then reveals her romantic plan to Paul, she says: ‘Do you remember when we first got together? The first picture I ever posted on Instagram was me and you punting.

‘That was to make it official as everyone was speculating I had a boyfriend… we do that then go for dinner after. Just me and you. Get an ice cream, hold hands and be romantic,’ with Paul replying with: ‘That’s quite cute!’

Sam then adds behind-the-scenes: ‘Before we had kids, we did nice things together – holidays, spend time together. Since the kids, it’s hard to plan properly, make sure we have childcare so we just don’t do it and I really miss that.’

During their Cambridge punting date, the couple decide to look back at the photo of their 2015 date, with Paul exclaiming: ‘Look how slim my face is!’ to which Sam adds: ‘Do you know what’s going to be different from our selfie when we take it?!’

With Paul joking: ‘Me being four stone heavier?’

To which a giggling Sam replies: ‘No! I was just going to say, us looking older. But I think with you, it’s not really your face, it’s because you’ve gone so grey.

‘So when you look at old pictures, people go: “Paul looks so much younger,” but it’s not, it’s because your hair is grey.’

And it’s not long until talk turns to Paul’s weight, as he adds: ‘It’s not, it’s being slimmer makes you look younger as well.’

With Sam saying: ‘It’s weird because you’ve put on weight but you’re not flabby, you go really hard. It goes all over, it’s like you’re swollen rather than flabby.’

The brunette beauty met Paul in an Essex bar in October 2014 following the split from her on-off TOWIE boyfriend Joey Essex.

She previously told MailOnline: ‘I didn’t expect to meet anyone… particularly after such an on-off relationship. I suppose they say it happens when you’re not looking for it.’

It was revealed just ten months later that they were expecting their first child together and they welcomed son, Paul Jr., now three, in December 2015.

The couple went on to welcome their second child, a daughter called Rosie, now 22-months, in November 2017.

Only recently, Sam candidly spoke to MailOnline about her relationship with Paul and how they are constantly pressurised by fans to get married, but they don’t let the comments bother them.

Sam said: ‘I actually don’t [feel pressurised]. I know everyone asks all the time, especially since Billie and Greg got married – it’s been more heightened. It’s really not top of my priorities.

‘I always say to Paul, he’s not anyway, but I always say: “Don’t every feel pressure” and he’s like “No, I don’t.”

‘I do look forward to when it does happen as it will be a whole new chapter for our lives. I don’t mind that it’s not happening right now as I’m really busy and I’ve got it to look forward to.

‘We’ve just done Billie and Greg’s wedding, a big build up, so that was epic then I think we’ve got it all again to come. I think I’m alright holding off for a bit, it’s exciting times ahead.’

And when asked whether she would ever document her wedding on the series, Sam admitted: ‘I haven’t even thought about it, personally for me, it’s part of my life, I’ve done it forever.

‘I don’t know, it’s just Paul… whether it’s a decision Paul and I would have to make together.’

The Mummy Diaries continues at 9pm on ITVBe.
