Whitmore was driving alone in his Ford F250 on FM 1008 when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree, said police in a report by the Bluebonnet News.

A second vehicle carrying a couple, including Eleazar Escobar Limon, 46, passed Whitmore’s crash scene. The vehicle made a u-turn and returned to provide assistance.

Limon, standing beside her vehicle, was then fatally struck by a passing Toyota Tundra and pronounced dead less than 30 minutes later, reports the Bluebonnet News.

Whitworth died in surgery after he was flow to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, according to the Dayton Police Department. An autopsy was to determine his exact cause of death, said Capt. John Coleman.

Coleman was not immediately available when DailyMail.com reached out for an update.

The driver of the Tundra, Daniel Herrera, 32, of Dayton, and a passenger, Valerie Dawn Boone, 34, were both airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital Downtown, where they were treated and released, reports BLuebonnet News.

‘Son of a gun bought one ticket ’cause that’s what he does, he could only afford one,’ said his brother, Matthew Whitworth. The brother was given the ticket after Whitmore’s passing.

His mother Cathy Hughes shared the final text message she received from him, about 2 1/2 hours before his death.

‘I just spent $800 on a World Series ticket hell yeah,’ read the text.

His aunt Kathy Smith came up with the idea for the hashtag, which has gone viral.

She encouraged fans to hold up signs at the World Series game 2 on Wednesday saying, ‘Luke you are here with us in spirit #takeitbackforluke.’

‘He’s gonna be able to see it and he’s gonna have the best seat in the house to watch it all. They’re gonna take it back and he’s gonna have a big party then,’ Hughes told KTRK.

‘It just says ‘Number one fan’ and it’s got a picture of him doing his favorite smile, which (his wife) hated so much,’ said Matthew.

The brother, who inherited the Seat 17 in Section 152, Row 21, for Wednesday night’s game, said he just wanted to be able to have ‘another beer’ with Luke.

‘It was good growing up with him.’
