Erin Molan suffers a second broken bone in just a matter of months

Erin Molan has broken her arm – her second broken bone this year after she fractured her hand back in April.

The Channel Nine star’s latest injury forced her to miss two events in the past week –  the Nine’s Upfronts 2020 last Wednesday, and her triumphant win at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards on Saturday night.

‘Erin had a fall and broke her arm (on the morning of the Upfronts) so was unable to attend,’ one of her colleague’s told The Sydney Morning Herald.

In a statement, a Nine spokeswoman said: ‘It was such a shame for Erin to have this accident and we all wish her a speedy recovery. We missed her at the Upfronts.’

It comes just months after Erin announced that she would be taking time off work after fracturing her hand.

Taking to Instagram in April, the sports presenter shared a photo of her cast and said she would be taking the weekend off work.

Last Saturday, Erin’s radio show 2GB Afternoons With Erin Molan And Natalie Peters won Best On Air Team at the ceremony, but Natalie was forced to accept it alone.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Erin addressed her absence from the Australian Commercial Radio Awards and said she was ‘gutted’ about ‘falling ill.’

‘Such an honour to just be a finalist – we honestly thought we were no chance of winning … couldn’t be more proud!,’she wrote on Instagram.

‘This one means a bloody lot! Gutted I was out of action.’

Co-host Natalia said on Instagram: ‘I wish Erin could have been by my side – she really is the most talented, hard-working, hilarious co-host a gal could wish for.

‘Turns out we’re the first all-female team to ever win this award, which is an incredible honour.’

Erin’s no-show at the ceremony comes after she has missed a list of high-profile events lately, following her rumoured ‘feud’ with Andrew Johns.

Speaking on 2GB’s The Steven Price Show on October 2, Erin admitted she had just finished self-tanning ahead of the Dally M Awards that evening in Sydney.

However, the sports reporter was a no-show when the red carpet began hours later and did not attend.

That feud: Erin's no-show at the ceremony comes after she has missed a list of high-profile events lately, following her rumoured 'feud' with Andrew Johns. In recent months, reports claimed Andrew disliked working with Erin and quit The Footy Show because he didn't want her being the main presenter

Last year, Erin was also blamed for the downfall of The NRL Footy Show after it was axed in October – despite the fact its ratings had been sliding for years.

Erin replaced longtime Footy Show host Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin earlier in 2018 as the network launched a rebrand in an attempt to improve ratings.

Ultimately, the program couldn’t be salvaged and the show was cancelled after 25 years on air.

Meanwhile, earlier this year Erin was slammed on social media by outraged K-pop fans for presenting a ‘disgusting and xenophobic’ segment on Channel Nine’s 20 to One that mocked Korean boy band BTS.

Both Erin and Nine were inundated with complaints, while the hashtag ‘#channel9apologize’ topped Twitter’s trending topics in both Australia and Korea, as well as #channel9racist in Korea.

‘Literally every sentence said in this video is problematic and is filled with racial undertones and xenophobia,’ tweeted one fan.

The 20 to One segment repeatedly mocked BTS, beginning with Erin introducing them as ‘the biggest band you’ve never heard of’ before an awkward reference to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un was made.

They then showed several celebrity guests making snarky comments about the band.
