Relieved pet owner is reunited with her dog named Bella TWO YEARS after she ran away from home during a lightning storm

A pet owner has been reunited with her dog almost two years after the pup ran away during a lightning storm.
Bella, the Shih Tzu Maletese cross, is believed to have been on her own and homeless during her 19 month adventure.
Owner Colleen Millar had given up hope but received a call that Bella had been found on the Sunshine Coast about 100km away from her north Brisbane home.

Someone had handed the wayward pup into a vet where her microchip was scanned and Colleen was contacted.
‘I lost it. I got upset, I couldn’t stop crying and this poor girl on the other end said she would have to call back,’ Colleen told Sunrise.
Bella suffers from kidney disease and at 16-years-old is getting on in dog years but she appears otherwise healthy from her ordeal.
‘I called my sister on the weekend and said ‘You’re never going to guess’ and she said ‘You’ve won the lottery?’ and I told her I got Bella back and she said ‘You did win the lottery’ and I thought you know that’s so true.’
When asked what she thinks happened to Bella on her journey Colleen says she has no idea.
‘I don’t know. It would have been great to have a GPS tracker or if she could talk but we don’t know any of that.’
Colleen says Bella is quieter since she returned but each day she is home she seems to get more like herself.
She will also be staying indoors during any lightening storms in the future.
