Heart-in-mouth moment parkour daredevil hops across narrow metal beams – and admits it’s ‘one of the scariest things I’ve ever done’

  • Challenged himself to hop across 11 beams – which he performs flawlessly

A daredevil explorer has swallowed his fear by hopping across thin beams in an abandoned building.

Portuguese parkour specialist Marcio Rebelo, 24, found a heady challenge when he visited Braga near Porto in northern Portugal.

He had found the obstacle course while exploring an old factory near the city’s football stadium in September.

Clambering on exposed steel beams, above a 40-foot drop onto solid concrete, the parkour athlete takes a deep breath before making a lunge forward.

The stunning footage shows Marcio leap two-footed from one metal landing to another, wearing only a pair of trainers for protection.

With two different angles giving the dizzying vantage points of the feat, Marcio manages to make it all the way across the 11-beam bridge to safety.

‘I have never experienced such a tense moment during my 11 years of training.

’10 seconds of pure focus and abstraction from everything else around, a moment just between me and these thin beams.’

The footage was recorded by his friend Vitor Coelho, who Marcio thanked for his ‘patience’.
