‘Bridezilla’ admits scarred cousin will make her ‘look prettier’

Bride admits she’s only asked a cousin with facial scarring to be a bridesmaid because she’ll make the rest of the wedding party ‘look prettier’

  • Bride, believed to be from the UK, is having one of her cousins as a bridesmaid
  • Asked her reasoning, she said: ‘Imagine how pretty we’ll look in snaps with her’
  • The cousin has scarring down one side of her face from an accident as a child

A bride-to-be has shamelessly admitted that she’s only having her scarred cousin as a bridesmaid to make the rest of her wedding party ‘look prettier’.

The anonymous ‘bridezilla’, believed to be from the UK, recently told her sister and mother that she would be having six bridesmaids, including a cousin she isn’t particularly close with.

When questioned on why she was including the relative, who has scarring down one side of her face from an accident when she was a child, the bride said: ‘Imagine how pretty we’ll look in pictures with her.’

The woman’s shocked sibling took to Reddit to ask members whether she should tell her cousin that she was being used as the ‘ugly friend’.

She wrote yesterday: ‘My sister is not a very nice person. She’s very entitled and spoiled, and is honestly just kind of a f****** bully.

‘She was known for it at school and it definitely hasn’t stopped in her adult life. She’s also getting married soon, oh joy.

‘We were both at mum’s house the other day and she was talking about her plans for her bridal party. She said she’s having six bridesmaids: our little half sister on dad’s side, four of her close friends and our cousin.

‘I was pretty shocked that she wanted the cousin to be a part of the bridal party. She’s a really awesome person and everything, but I didn’t think she and my sister were close.

‘In fact, I didn’t think she and my sister had even spoken for at least a year or two. Turns out I was right. Seeing mum and I were confused, sister laughed a bit and said “Imagine how pretty we’ll look in pictures with her!”‘

Social media users were divided, with some suggesting the sibling should tell her relative before refusing to attend her sister's wedding

Yet some said the sibling shouldn't tell her relative, with a third person saying: 'Don't tell your cousin. I hope both you and your mother told your sister she was an awful person.'

The gobsmacked sister then asked Reddit members if she should tell her cousin about her sister’s comment, despite it being extremely hurtful.

Social media users were divided, with some suggesting the sibling should tell her relative before refusing to attend her sister’s wedding.

One person wrote: ‘I would stand up in solidarity with your cousin. I would tell your sister you won’t be attending her wedding because you don’t support ugly people and your cousin is more beautiful than she will ever be.’

Another said: ‘Not only would I gently discourage your cousin but I would pull out and tell the bride that if that was how she would treat someone…you can only imagine what she does behind your back.’
