Fotis Dulos, the estranged husband of missing Connecticut mother Jennifer Dulos who vanished in May, has spoken out again to claim her family owes him money despite him being charged in her disappearance.
Fotis has been charged with evidence tampering in Jennifer’s disappearance. Her body has not been found, and he insists he had nothing to do with her vanishing.
He is awaiting trial and is currently fighting a gag order the judge imposed which prevents him from speaking about it.
However the father-of-five is continuing to give interviews about another case he is embroiled in with his estranged wife’s family.
In a recent sit-down with Fox News, he spoke about that case. It is based on Jennifer’s mother Gloria’s claim that Fotis owes their family $2.5million. He says he does not and that he is in fact owed $1million.
The case went to trial earlier this month and the judge is now makin their decision.
‘It was good to have the case tried. We were able to put the evidence in front of the judge that we don’t owe $2.5million but we are actually owed $1million,’ Fotis said in his interview.
Fotis Dulos has been charged with evidence tampering in his ex-wife Jennifer’s disappearance.
The loans began in 2004 when Hilliard Farber, Jennifer’s late father, gave his new son-in-law money to help with his construction business.
Fotis would use his money to buy and then flip properties, paying him back with interest once he had made a profit.
Hilliard died in 2017. Gloria launched her lawsuit after Jennifer had filed for divorce papers.
Fotis said he and his late father-in-law had an ‘excellent relationship’ which worked both ways.
‘The money would go both ways, there were formal notes there was substantial interest and there was repayment of the loans.
‘After 2010, the relationship evolved to be a little more casual it was again a two-way relationship.
‘Whenever the money was needed for construction projects. Hilliard would provide it.
Fotis is being sued by his former mother-in-law, Gloria Farber, who says her late husband Hilliard (pictured together) gave him a $2.5million loan which he has never repaid

‘On the business side the relationship was always excellent he was very very supportive. He not only provided funds but he provided his own time and advice which was priceless it was like having a board of trustees in one person.
‘We enjoyed his participation. We are very grateful to him, personally I felt like he was a second father to me. I said that at trial and I was sincere about it,’ he said.
When asked about Jennifer in the interview, he said he was bound by the gag order so could not answer any questions.
‘I would love to do that but there is a court order that we have to respect. I would rather not answer that,’ he said.
He did say that he had not spoken to their five children since May, when Gloria assumed guardianship of them after her daughter vanished.
‘I don’t know how they’re doing there’s no information flowing with regards to how they’re doing. I love my children.
‘I miss them. I think about them every morning when I wake up. I feel I have a donut in my heart with a big hole. I don’t wish it to anybody. I hope this will be over soon.
‘All I can do is work hard every day, step by step, until we get through all this,’ he said.
Fotis and Jennifer were in the midst of a divorce at the time of her disappearance.
Among her complaints about him in previous court records was that he had been having an affair with Michelle Troconis, his live-in girlfriend at the time Jennifer vanished.
Fotis’ girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, (pictured in October) is also expected to testify at the civil trial. She too has been charged with evidence tampering. Police say she has admitted making up an alibi for Dulos on the day Jennifer disappeared
Michelle has also been charged with evidence tampering but is thought to have turned on her boyfriend.
She told police in August that she lied in previous interviews, when she gave him an alibi, according to one arrest affidavit.
Fotis’ criminal trial will carry on next year.
He is awaiting a decision from the Connecticut Supreme Court on whether or not the gag order will be lifted.
Jennifer has not been seen since she dropped off their five children at school the morning she disappeared.
Her car was later found, but no trace of her has been.
Police believe her estranged husband ‘lay in wait’ for her at the home then left with her in some way.
He was later filmed allegedly depositing bags at various locations which, when tested later, contained traces of her DNA.
