Celebrities arrive in St. Moritz for Dasha Zhukova’s wedding to Stavros Niarchos

Karlie Kloss, Princess Beatrice, and Gayle King are among the A-list stars who touched down in Switzerland just hours before Dasha Zhukova’s surprise wedding to and billionaire shipping magnate Stavros Niarchos.

Over the past few days guests have been arriving in St. Moritz bundled up in winter coats and furs ahead of the couple’s star-studded nuptials, which were held 24 hours earlier than expected.

DailyMail.com exclusively reported that Dasha, 38, and Stavros, 34, said ‘I do’ on Friday in a specially erected marquee close to St. Moritz’s main ski jump Olympaschanze.

The date of the wedding, which was thought to be on Saturday, was kept secret by guests and the couple.

Dasha and Stavros officially tied the knot in a registry office wedding in Paris last year, but they have pulled out all the stops for their wedding weekend, which is estimated to be costing $6.5 million.

The two traveled to St. Moritz on Monday and were seen leaving the airport in style in a retro Lancia Delta HF Integrale. The sought-after car is a collector’s item that is worth between approximately $40,000 and $100,000.

Dasha’s close friend Karlie, 27, was expected to attend the nuptials with her husband, Joshua Kushner, but he didn’t appear to be with her when she arrived in Switzerland with Derek Blasberg and oil tycoon Mikey Hess.

Mike Hess’s new wife, designer Misha Nonoo, wasn’t with them either, though it’s possible that she and Joshua had to take different flights.

Karlie kept warm in a a tan suede coat with cream sherpa lining, which she wore over a black turtleneck sweater with gold stripes and cropped black dress pants. Instead of boots, she had on ladylike black ballet flats.

The model’s sister-in-law, Ivanka Trump, is also rumored to be headed to Switzerland to see the couple tie the knot, which may be a bit awkward.

The night before her flight to Switzerland, Karlie revealed on Watch What Happens Live that she will not be voting for President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

‘I’m sure I’m not the only person in this country who does not necessarily agree with their family on politics,’ she said. ‘I voted as a Democrat in 2016, and I plan to do the same in 2020.’

Sources at the resort say Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, are renting a private mansion in the Via Tinus area of St. Moritz where steel magnate and billionaire Lakshmi Mittal owns a large chalet, overlooking the alpine mountains.

Locals call the area ‘Billionaires’ Bluff’ because of the array of luxury homes based there, many on private roads.

Ivanka, 38, and Jared, 39, are expected to be joined by his younger brother, Joshua, who may be arriving with them before joining Karlie.

The first daughter’s private plane is said to be scheduled to touch down tonight at Samedan Airport, a private airstrip that is a few minutes from the Kulm Hotel, where the majority of the 300 guests are staying.

The four are firm friends with Dasha and meet regularly in Manhattan where they have homes.

Gayle King was among those who were seen bundled up in a lavish fur in St. Moritz on Friday, the day before the wedding.

The 65-year-old CBS This Morning anchor had on blue glasses that matched the cobalt-colored cowl-neck top she wore underneath her black and white fur coat.

She was standing in front of a luggage rack and appeared to have just arrived in the alpine resort town.

The anchor’s dark bob was styled in loose waves while her nails were perfectly manicured and painted a glamorous red.

Gayle likely scored an invite to the wedding through Dasha, whom she has known for years. Back in 2017, they were among the group of A-list friends who enjoyed a luxurious trip to Sicily on David Geffen’s $300 million yacht.

The two run in the same A-list circles, and in September, they were both in Rome along with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to attend the high society wedding of designer Misha Nonoo and oil tycoon Mikey Hess.

Tomorrow’s wedding will be an equally star-studded affair with celebrities such as soccer ace David Beckham and actress Gwyneth Paltrow expected to fly in to attend.

Princess Beatrice and her fiancé Edoardo Macelli Mozzi were among Dasha’s A-list pals who were seen hitting the slopes before her big day.

Kate Hudson, actress Sara Foster, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer, model Kelly Sawyer, and designer Jamie Mizrahi have also been sharing photos of themselves in St. Moritz ahead of the weekend’s festivities.

Sara’s younger sister Erin Foster announced her arrival in Switzerland on her Instagram Stories on Friday morning, sharing photos of herself with her sleeping husband, Simon Tikhman.

‘This will be an elegant and very smart affair befitting to the couple’s style. Everything will be in good taste,’ a source said.

‘There will be caviar and champagne, lots of it, but there’s also a disco tonight in the hotel which has been booked entirely for the guests.

‘The emphasis is on fun and celebration.’

Florists were busy shipping in bundles of pink and lilac roses which were placed in vases around the entrance to the ballroom where tonight’s pre-wedding party will be held.

The elegant Kulm Hotel overlooks Lake St. Moritz and the Alps, and rooms go for a minimum of $780-a-night.

British DJ Mark Ronson is believed to be providing the music, ensuring there will be plenty of dancing on the bride and groom’s big day.

Dasha and Stavros officially tied the knot in a registry office wedding in Paris last year but have pulled out all the stops for this weekend.

The wedding ceremony will take place in the St. Moritz town hall building, mayor Christian Jott Jenny said.

The hotel’s director Heinz Hunkeler told MailOnline: ‘There is very, very, very special clientele on the guest list.’

Several marquees have been erected near the resort’s ski–jump area and the sub-freezing temperatures are unlikely to put guests off from enjoying themselves.

Stavros’s father, Philip Niarchos, and uncle Spyros are the largest private landowners in St. Moritz.

‘The Niarchos family are hugely respected and valued in St. Moritz,’ a source told MailOnline.

‘They could have held the wedding at any fabulous location in the world but have chosen St. Moritz because it is of great importance to them to support the town and the groom’s father is an honorary citizen.

‘I expect the expenditure on this weekend to cost several million pounds and it will be a great boost for the resort too.’

Stavros, who is part of the Greek shipping Niarchos dynasty, has dated a list of celebrities in the past, including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Mary-Kate Olsen. He also had a seven-year relationship with model Jessica Hart.

Dasha, a successful Moscow-born businesswoman and art gallery owner, and New York-born Stavros had been friends for more than a decade but became a couple after her 2017 split with Roman Abramovich, with whom she had two children.

‘St. Moritz affords the celebrities and guests security and privacy. What happens in St. Moritz stays in St. Moritz,’ the source added.

‘Locals do not generally bother the celebrity visitors. It is only a small town so it is virtually impossible to avoid bumping into them.

‘I expect locals will share a table with a few in the popular Salsastrains restaurants and not notice them openly. It is almost an unspoken code and one of the reasons the fabulously wealthy choose here for such celebrations.

‘St. Moritz itself is the most Swiss of all the Swiss ski resorts. It caters to an old money crowd, including generations of Niarchos, Guccis, and royalty from all over Europe and the Middle East as well as the horsey set.

‘It will be a fabulous party weekend and the folk who live here wish the happy couple all the very best and welcome them.’
