Expert: Michelle Bridges’ fitness brand won’t suffer after she was allegedly caught drink driving

‘She can survive it’: Experts claim Michelle Bridges’ fitness brand won’t suffer long-term as ‘there will be a lot of empathy’ from fans – after she was allegedly caught drink driving

Michelle Bridges’ fitness brand will bounce back after she was allegedly caught drink driving on the weekend, a media expert has claimed.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, publicist and media commentator Prue MacSween says there will be ’empathy’ for the celebrity personal trainer.

Prue explains:  ‘If she shows a vulnerability that even the most staunch and dedicated people who are applicants of good health can fall by the wayside, she has admitted it was totally irresponsible, I think she can survive it.’

She added: ‘There will be a lot of empathy from the people that like her and a lot of vindication for people who don’t.’

She was allegedly caught drink driving on Australia Day with her four-year-old son, Axel, in the car.

Michelle was allegedly caught over the limit on New South Head Road, in the Sydney suburb of Bellevue Hill, about 11.25am on Sunday.

Michelle was issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice for mid-range PCA. She will face Waverley Local Court on Tuesday, February 18.

While describing her actions as ‘inexcusable’, she revealed in the wake of her arrest that she had been dealing with ’emotional turmoil’ following her split from long-term partner Steve ‘Commando’ Willis, who she met on The Biggest Loser.

‘I would like to express my deep regret for breaking the law, this was a terrible mistake and an error of judgment,’ she told The Daily Telegraph.

‘This behaviour is inexcusable, and I am absolutely devastated and embarrassed to find myself in this position. It has been a very difficult time for me the last few weeks dealing with the break-up of my long-term relationship.

‘This is by no means an excuse for my behaviour but I feel the emotional turmoil I have been going through has impacted my decision making. I am extremely sorry for my actions.’

Michelle and Steve met while filming The Biggest Loser in 2007, at a time when they were both in relationships with other people.

They began dating in 2013 and a year later welcomed a son, Axel.
