A 14-year-old boy has been charged with the attempted deliberate homicide of a police officer who authorities say was deliberately ran over during a traffic stop.

The unidentified teen, was driving a car full of five female passengers, aged 13 to 16, and had fled from cops in Montana numerous times during Valentine’s evening. 

But when officers approached the stationary car in the area of Bernard, south of Monad, at 1.12am on Saturday and began to give the six occupants instructions, ‘the vehicle accelerated and drove straight at officers’.

They noted in a press release that the injuries were not life-threatening.  

The occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee the scene in the vehicle but it crashed nearby as it headed northbound. 

All six children tried to escape on foot but were apprehended.  

Every member of the group was from the Billings area, police said on Saturday.

The male driver was taken into custody by youth services. 

The investigation into the incident continues.
