The video filmed in the immediate aftermath of yesterday’s terror attack in Barcelona shows the uniformed officer holding the child close to his body.
An elderly woman, possibly the child’s grandmother, is lifted from the ground as she picks up the youngster’s buggy.
A second policeman and another man, possibly a family member, can be seen attending to the motionless victim behind them.
The elderly woman was later pictured holding the child safely in her arms as a wheel from the child’s buggy lies in the middle of the street.
Throughout the ordeal, bodies and debris were strewn around the scene as emergency services did everything possible to help the wounded.
Meanwhile, Catalan police say they have arrested a fourth person in connection with the attacks in Barcelona and the resort of Cambrils that have killed at least 14 people.
