Australians can save money on groceries by paying with vouchers instead of bank cards at the supermarket checkout, a shopper has revealed.
Melbourne YouTuber ‘Love Happy Ali’ shaves five percent off the cost of every food shop by buying Woolworths gift cards from the Cash Rewards website, which offers a five percent discount on every voucher purchased.
The mother-of-two buys a $500 gift card for $475 – a reduction $25 or five percent – with her credit card every few months, then uses the voucher to pay for her shopping online.

Cash Rewards does not accept PayPal or any other payment method, so you’ll need to use a bank card like Ali.
She also pays $169.99 a year for Woolworths unlimited delivery service, which brings groceries to straight to your door seven days a week on shops of $100 or more.
Woolworths charges a standard $12 fee for every delivery, which means it’s worthwhile subscribing to unlimited deliveries if you order at least 14 times a year.
14 deliveries costs $168 – roughly the same as the total cost of the $169.99 unlimited annual service.
Ali said she has already ordered 13 deliveries for her family of four since the beginning of January.

If she continues ordering at the same frequency until the end of December, she stands to save a minimum of $252 on grocery deliveries this year.
