A teenager who brilliantly replicated an outfit previously worn by Zendaya got dress-coded after school officials deemed her look too provocative.
Hannah Whitley, a high school senior in the US, posted a photo of her outfit next to a picture of Zendaya in the original style on Twitter on Thursday.
‘When you just wanna look like Zendaya but you get a dress code violation for being too provocative,’ the teen wrote next to a puzzled emoji.

In the photo, Hannah can be seen wearing a long pair of tan-colored pants with wide legs and a high waist, paired with a striped tank top and flat black shoes.
Zendaya seemed shocked that the student would get reprimanded for wearing such an outfit.
‘Provocative….where???’ the 20-year-old actress and singer wrote, telling Hannah she looks ‘amazing’ in the photo.
One Twitter user asked Hannah if she was reprimanded because she was showing her arms, but the teen said this was not the problem.

‘I actually broke no official rules,’ she wrote. ‘My principle [sic] was insinuating I wore that outfit to get attention from boys, when I only wanted to look sophisticated and cute.’
Hannah also received support from her aunt, Young And Hungry actress Kym Whitley.
‘Your principal was hating because she wanted your shoes!’ Kym told Hannah in a tweet. ‘But you do look like Zendaya!! Well done Niece.’
The high school student, whose tweet has received more than 10,000 likes, also heard from other Twitter users, one of whom told her: ‘Your school is stupid and you are gorgeous!’
