The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry were filmed for cameo roles in the latest Star Wars film, it has been confirmed.
Actor John Boyega was giving an interview to BBC Radio 4 this morning when he was asked whether the royals were given lines for their cameo roles as stormtroopers in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
‘I think they took that scene out,’ said Mr Boyega.
‘I’ve had enough with those secrets,’ he laughed. ‘They came on set. They were there. I’m sick of hiding it. It think it was leaked, anyway.

Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker, and Boyega, who plays Finn, were also on set with director Rian Johnson.
Prince William admitted he was a ‘total geek’ over the franchise, and he challenged his brother to a duel with lightsabers.
They also checked out props such as animatronic heads and robot BB8 before posing for a group photo to mark the occasion.

This wouldn’t be the first time big names have been given cameo roles in the franchise.
James Bond star Daniel Craig had a cameo in The Force Awakens, in which he was listed as Stormtrooper JB-007 in a nod to his secret agent credentials.
Kensington Palace declined to comment on the the BBC’s interview with John Boyega.
