UEFA chiefs tried to close the roof on the Millennium Stadium for the upcoming Champions League final over fears terrorists could fly a drone into the ground.
Bosses are said to have held secret talks with Welsh authorities in a bid to prevent aerial attacks on the Cardiff ground – now known as the Principality Stadium – during the June 3 fixture.
The retractable roof is normally only shut for bad weather, but UEFA bosses apparently fear a ‘lone wolf’ could target the stadium with a drone.

An official told The Sun that chiefs discussed the possible measure with police and FA Wales.
The source added: ‘Security will be massive. Now they are proposing closing the roof as they fear terrorists with drones.’
UEFA director Giorgio Marchetti added: ‘All possible risks are taken into consideration.’
Supt Steve Furnham of South Wales Police added: ‘Detailed safety and security planning and preparation for the Uefa Champions League final in Cardiff has been going ahead for many months.’
