TOWIE’s Gemma Collins call to identify man who threw sheep

Towie star Gemma Collins is appealing for help in identifying a man who laughs about breaking a sheep’s leg after throwing the animal into a field believed to be in Staffordshire.

The horrifying footage, which has been shared on Instagram by Miss Collins, opens with a man carrying a sheep down a country lane by the scruff of its neck.

The unidentified man, who appears to be accompanied by at least two other people, takes the animal into a field and tosses it carelessly.

The animal lands on its back and attempts to stand. It is clearly injured.

The man in the video can be heard laughing as the sheep lies in the grass with a suspected broken leg. The incident is believed to have taken place in Stoke-on-Tent, Staffordshire.

The man is heard saying the sheep will ‘get up and go’.

Miss Collins, who actively posts against animal cruelty on social media, is not the only one disturbed by the footage.

Campaign group Labour Animal Rights are hoping to find the men involved in the video. They also want the animal to receive veterinary care.

Labour Animal Rights spokesperson Ellen Cobb said: ‘The men need to be found and questioned and we feel that a proper investigation needs to take place.’

Rachel Butler, spokeswoman for the RSPCA in the Midlands, agrees.

She said: ‘This is upsetting footage to watch. It clearly shows a man throw a sheep over a fence into a field, followed by laughing.

‘The sheep lands on its back and appears to have what looks like a broken leg. The animal is obviously struggling to stand up and walk.’

Ms Butler added that while is not clear whether the sheep sustained any injury as a result of being thrown, RSPCA was keen to find out.

Anyone who recognises the men in the video, or has any further information, should contact the RSPCA’s appeals line on 0300 123 8018. All calls are treated with complete confidence.
