A man has been stabbed in the chest during an early-morning dispute in Melbourne’s south-east.
Emergency services were called to a home on Warrigal Road, Oakleigh, following reports of a domestic incident on Thursday at around 7am.
Victoria Police allege that a ‘dispute erupted’ inside the home, resulting in a violent altercation between two men aged in their 30s.
One man sustained a ‘non-life threatening stab wound’ and was taken to the Alfred Hospital in a stable condition, a spokeswoman for Victoria Ambulance said.
The other man was also taken to hospital with ‘assault-related’ injuries.
Police are currently speaking with both parties and the investigation continues.
It was initially reported that the man could have suffered a gunshot wound, with paramedics waiting for clearance from police before treating the man.
