She took to Instagram to post a selfie with the second birthday cake and explained it was not as simple to make as she first thought.
‘Cake making lesson number two- don’t focus on making the cake look in proportion with little to no attention on structural integrity,’ Ms Ardern wrote.
‘There is a jar of lentils propping this thing up.’
‘Happy Birthday Neve! Thanks for ignoring all of the imperfections in life and just being a joy.’
Ms Ardern also attempted to make a cake for Neve’s first birthday but admitted things did not run smoothly last year too.
She posted a photo smiling with the bunny cake before revealing she did not enjoy the experience.

Hundreds of people took to the comments to praise the prime minister on her skills.
‘Prime Minister of New Zealand and still able to bake cakes…. are you sure you’re not Superwoman,’ one user wrote.
‘Dear Jacinda, please adopt us,’ another commented.
‘You run a country and still have time to make your daughters birthday cake? You truly are amazing!’ another woman said.
