Scott Morrison’s coronavirus close shave: PM is put on alert as it’s revealed one of his staffers ate at a restaurant identified as a COVID-19 hotspot

Scott Morrison has experienced a COVID-19 close call after one of his advisors was directed to self-isolate after dining near an infected customer.
Prime Minister’s staff member Nico Louw was tested for coronavirus after eating at The Apollo restaurant at Potts Point in inner east Sydney.
NSW Health put out an alert for The Apollo on Monday, urging anyone who visited from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 July to get tested.
Mr Louw’s result came back negative, however he will remain isolated until his 14 day quarantine period is complete.

A spokeswoman for Mr Morrison told the Daily Telegraph the Prime Minister will continue his work schedule as normal.
‘The acting Chief Medical Officer advised that because the staff member has no COVID-19 symptoms, the Prime Minister is clear to continue with his plans,’ she said.
The Apollo is among several Sydney venues forced to close due to COVID-19 infections including Mounties and the Pritchard’s Hotel in Mount Pritchard, and Thai Rock outlets in Wetherill Park and Potts Point.

She begged Sydneysiders to ‘reduce their mobility’ to stop the spread of the disease during an appearance on the Today show on Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday, the state recorded 14 new cases – including staff members from The Apollo and Thai Rock in Potts Point.
Making matters worse, 18 staff from the pharmacy at St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Darlinghurst dined at the Thai Rock restaurant in Potts Point and are now in self-isolation.
Mr Louw was in the news back in April when he reportedly distributed dozens of pirated copies of the ex-Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s biography before its publication.
Legal action resulted in the two parties reaching a confidential settlement.
