This is the surfer who miraculously escaped almost unscathed after he kicked and punched his way out of the jaws of a monster great white shark.
Marcel Brundler, 37, has just a souvenir scratch on his back after the three-metre animal grabbed him while surfing near Lorne, west of Melbourne, on Tuesday.
He said he was ‘really, really lucky’ to have survived, while one witness described the incident as like Mick Fanning’s famous escape ‘but worse’.

‘At first I didn’t think anything of it, we have lots of dolphins in the water here, but then I realised it was big, much bigger,’ Mr Brundler said.
‘I’m no expert but this was at least three metres long.’
‘At some stage, it had me in its jaw, I was shouting and punching it while it attacked me.’
Somehow he managed to punch and kick his way out of the shark’s grasp and catch a timely wave into shore.
‘I was really, really lucky this wave popped up out of nowhere,’ he said.

Despite the ordeal, Mr Brundler (pictured) said he’ll probably be back in the water next week
Lucas Von Graevenitz Sanchez said he watched the attack through his binoculars from the foreshore car park.
‘The shark was massive. If you see the photo you can see the jaw was like half a metre wide,’ he said.
‘It was like Mick Fanning, but worse.’
The Australian surfing legend was attacked by a great white while competing at Jeffreys Bay in South Africa in 2015. He also walked away unscathed after fighting it off.
Police said Mr Brundler was remarkably calm after the attack.
‘The shark left bite marks in his board and tore at his wetsuit … but he has no injuries. He was very, very lucky.’
The popular surf beach has been closed and Fisheries Victoria has been notified of the attack.
Despite the ordeal, Mr Brundler said he’ll probably be back in the water next week.
‘Maybe not on my own though, it will be a little scary,’ he said.
