The Victorian workplaces hardest hit by coronavirus during the second wave have been revealed.
Figures released by the state government on Wednesday show abattoirs top the list, with 551 COVID-19 infections linked to slaughterhouses since June 1.
Some 439 warehouse workers have contracted the virus, while nine food distribution centres across Victoria account for 172 cases.
The government’s ‘other’ category, which includes universities, gyms, pharmacies and TAFE campuses, have so far been linked to 195 infections.

Supermarkets recorded 84 cases across 11 stores, while retailers recorded 80 cases across 14 locations.
Five seperate outbreaks at food premises have produced 57 infections – and the logistics industry has been linked to 55 infections.
The data also revealed outbreak categories with the highest cases numbers.

Aged care facilities were linked to a staggering 2,453 cases across 136 homes and schools have accounted for 630 infections at 69 locations.
Frontline health facilities such as hospitals and clinics recorded a total of 540 cases across 53 locations.
Victoria recorded 410 new cases of coronavirus overnight, bringing the total number of cases to 15,646.
The death toll rose to 267 after another 21 people died overnight, aged from their 70s to their 100s.
Another hot spot for COVID-19 were schools where 630 cases were reported across 69 locations
