Sunrise host David Koch calls Justin Bieber a ‘brat’ and a ‘d**k’ over his behaviour on the show

Sunrise host David ‘Kochie’ Koch shocked his co-hosts on Monday by calling pop singer Justin Bieber a ‘brat’ and a ‘d**k’ live on air.

He made the surprising remarks while blasting the Canadian star for his behaviour on the program back in 2010, when he was 16.

‘He was bit of a d*ck. Remember when he came into the studio? He was an absolute brat,’ Kochie, 64, said.

Sunrise co-host Sam Armytage defended Justin slightly, saying: ‘Yes, he was. But now we know why: he was lonely.’

Justin made headlines in 2010 when he reportedly lost his temper with Channel Seven staff ahead of a performance on the breakfast show.

Kochie spoke to Mix FM about the incident at the time and said that Justin needed ‘a slap’.

‘Our floor manager was directing him to where he was about to perform and he turned around and said, ‘Don’t ever f**king touch me again.’

‘And then [Bieber’s] sound guy… said, ‘Don’t take offence. He tells us that all the time.”

In 2018, the show’s former producer Jay Cagatay also claimed that Justin had told a crew member who was trying to attach a microphone to him: ‘Don’t ever f**king touch me again.’

Jay explained that Justin’s performance at Sydney’s Circular Quay was cancelled that day because the number of ‘tweens and teens’ in the crowd became a safety issue, so Justin had to perform at the Sunrise studio in Martin Place instead.

‘He may have been a little stressed getting the last minute change,’ Jay said. ‘Just before he was about to perform, Nick, our floor manager, went to put a mic on him.

‘[Justin] hadn’t said anything, he walked in at that point completely silent. Nick, he didn’t even say anything to Justin himself, he said, ‘Hang on a second, mate,’ [and] went to put him on and Justin yelled, ‘Don’t ever f**king touch me again!’ after the lapel mic was on.’

According to The Daily Telegraph, seven other Sunrise employees supported this version of events.

Justin performed on Sunrise five years after the incident, in 2015, by which time his behaviour had reportedly improved.

Meanwhile, Justin released a brand new song on Thursday entitled Lonely, featuring Benny Blanco, where he sings about becoming famous at a young age.

The video begins with actor Jacob Tremblay, 14, as a young Bieber sitting by himself in a large room, when someone comes and motions towards him.

He then stands up and grabs a hockey stick next to him, stick-handling the tennis ball as he walks before passing it off and setting the stick down.

He eventually walks out of the room and onto a staircase, as Bieber sings, ‘Cause I’ve had everything/But no one’s listening/And that’s just f***ing lonely.’

‘What if you had it all but nobody to call? Maybe then you’d know me. Cause I’ve had everything, but no one’s listening, and that’s just oh so lonely. I’m so lonely,’ he sang.

‘Everybody saw me sick, and it felt like no one gave a [shit]. They criticised the things I did as an idiot kid.’
