A bumbling burglar has been filmed slipping over twice in a mini mart before he made off with the store’s cash register – that was empty.
The man, who is still on the run, entered Harold Street Mini Mart in Townsville about 2.30pm on Saturday when he was captured on CCTV.
He ran to the counter and tore off the register before making off in a stolen white 2014 Ford Ranger utility.
But he certainly didn’t get away without embarrassing himself.
Hilarious footage shows the man reaching over the counter and spilling a number of candy bars.
As he attempts to grab the register, attached to electrical cords, he slips on the candy bars.

While trying to hold the door open and fumbling with his bag, he pulls the register off the counter.
Making a mess of the floor and the robbery, the burglar continues to try and pull the cash register from its cords.
Clearly not wanting to leave without a few more stolen goods, the man then appears to stash some of the candy bars into his bag.

While the whole incident took place in a matter of moments, CCTV footage captured the hilarious ordeal.
With his bag full of candy bars and an empty register in tow, the man still fumbles to escape.
He uses a knife to cut the cords, before fleeing the store.
