McDonald’s has also added a Jamaican Jerk Chicken Sandwich to the menu for the first time, which includes two pieces of spicy crispy meat on sourdough bread.
Meanwhile, the £5.69 double Big Mac has four patties instead of the usual two, wedged between three slices of bread and garnished with cheese, lettuce, onions and Big Mac sauce.
While a regular Big Mac has 550 calories, the new super-sized version, which is the biggest ever burger sold by McDonald’s in the UK, comes in at 694 calories.
A similar double Big Mac was launched in the US earlier this year, but this is the first time it’s been released in the UK, and the chain say it’s different from the Mega Mac – which was previously on the menu and also had four patties.
The burger will be available from Wednesday 18 November.
