Michelle Keegan forced to self-isolate for two weeks after being exposed to Covid on a shoot

Michelle Keegan has been forced to self-isolate for two weeks, after coming into contact with – but not contracting – COVID-19.

The actress, 33, was exposed to the virus during a photoshoot in Manchester last month, MailOnline can exclusively reveal.

This meant she was unable to return to the set of her Sky TV series Brassic, which is in the midst of shooting its third season.

A source told us: ‘Michelle had to take time away from the Brassic set once again and has been laying low in Essex with her husband Mark Wright.

‘She only missed one day of filming. But she needed to isolate after she came into contact with someone in Manchester who had it.

‘Luckily it all happened very quickly and Michelle did not return to the Brassic set before isolating. So it didn’t affect filming too much.

‘She has spent last two weeks in total isolation. She will go back to filming at the end of this week.’

The source added: ‘She has spent last two weeks in total isolation. She will go back to filming at the end of this week’ 

MailOnline has approached reps for comment.

This follows The Sun’s report that she was tested for the virus in September when a Bassic crew member was diagnosed with coronavirus.

‘The safety of the cast and crew is of the utmost importance so until bosses know it’s totally safe filming won’t be going ahead,’ an insider told the publication. ‘It could be a fortnight before it starts again.

‘Michelle was due to start filming this week but nothing is happening until they’re sure it’s safe.’

She was seen back at work after this, prior to this most recent COVID scare of the past two weeks.

She and husband Mark, 33, have certainly used their time at home wisely – deciding to put up their Christmas decorations this weekend.

Despite it still being seven weeks until Christmas Day, the pair – who have been married since 2015 – documented their festive makeover on social media on Sunday, from the delivery of a gigantic tree, to the decorating of it to the impressive finished product.

Michelle, 33, posted a snap of the entryway to their home, door ajar, large tree standing pride of place in the hallway next to the staircase.

She captioned this: ‘The festivities have started early. It’s 2020, and the rules have gone out the window!! Pass me the mulled wine!’

The couple have gone for a sweet theme – literally.

The tree, banisters and doorway to the house they share has been strewn with giant candy canes and lollipops.

On the front step stands two life-size toy soldiers, in the style of the queen’s guards, protecting the house.

A massive garland runs around the doorway, lit up and decorated with sweet-themed baubles and more candy canes.

Wrapped gifts sit on the front stoop and a large wreath hangs from the door.

The tree itself stretches up to the height of the stairs and is covered in red and white decorations, with Merry Christmas and Santa Stop Here signs hanging from it.
