Mohamed Salah tests positive for coronavirus days after the Liverpool star partied at his brother’s wedding in Egypt, leaving Klopp’s injury-hit Reds without ANOTHER key player
Liverpool’s absentee record has worsened with news that star forward Mohamed Salah has contracted coronavirus.
Salah has tested positive for Covid-19 with the Egyptian FA confirming the news on Friday.
In a short statement released on Twitter, they said: ‘The medical swab conducted on the mission of our first national football team showed that our international player, Mohamed Salah, the star of Liverpool, was infected with coronavirus, after his test came positive, although he does not suffer from any symptoms.

‘Meanwhile the other members of the team were negative.’
The EFA said Salah was now isolating, and that he would be ‘subject to more checks in the coming hours’.
The positive test should not sideline him for too long, provided he remains asymptomatic or develops only mild symptoms.
Liverpool are not due to play again until their home Premier League match against Leicester on November 21.
Salah’s positive test comes just days after he attended the wedding of his brother Nasr held in the country’s capital of Cairo.
The 28-year-old wasn’t the only footballer at the wedding with Egypt team-mate Mahmoud Trezeguet, who plays for Aston Villa, was also in attendance.
In footage posted on social media, Salah can be seen wearing and not wearing a mask during the wedding celebrations.
In September, Egypt allowed weddings to be held in open-air-venues after months of banning them in attempt to stop the spread of coronavirus.
The government announced that these would be capped at a maximum of 300 invitees – with these only being able to take place in tourist and hotel facilities that obtained health and safety certificates.
