The Cilla actress, 39, admitted his early arrival was ‘quite a surprise’ as she opened up about the experience during a Q&A about her new Christmas show Jack and the Beanstalk: After Ever After.

Sheridan, who is plays The Woman With No Name in the new version of the fairytale, confessed that her son’s early arrival was ‘quite a surprise.’
Despite being ‘okay’ with being heavily pregnant during lockdown, things became much more difficult when Billy ‘came along three and a half weeks early’.
She admitted: ‘We were in lockdown for eight weeks after that with no help and we hadn’t had antenatal classes, so it was a bit of a scary time.’
The doting mother went on to describe son Billy, who is now six months old, as ‘amazing’ and branded him a ‘chunky monkey.’

Sheridan recently revealed she’s struggling with ‘mum guilt’ because her busy working schedule is preventing her from spending time with her baby.
Long periods of time away from the family home while she works have minimized her free time with the six-month old.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday evening, Sheridan shared a relevant quote from author and businesswoman Arianna Huffington about the difficulties faced by those who juggle professional careers with parenthood.

‘I think while all mothers deal with feelings of guilt, working mothers are plagued by guilt on steroids,’ it read.
Captioning the quote, she added: ‘Been really feeling this lately. Is mum guilt normal?! get back from work when he’s in bed and he’s still asleep when I go to work. I miss him so much, hate missing precious time with him.’
The post comes after Sheridan admitted she never expected to have children, but giving birth to her son changed her perspective.

She told the Keep Calm and Kerry On podcast to host Kerry Ellis: ‘I’d love to have another baby – we’ve already spoken about it. It’s hard when you start planning work, but it would be so nice.’
The couple revealed the name of their newborn child in July, and according to Sheridan, Jamie wants Billy to be an Arsenal football player, but they will ultimately support him whatever he chooses to be in the future.
‘But when Jamie’s out, I put music on and shimmy at him. Whatever Billy does, we’ll support him. I’m learning as I go along.’

The Royle Family actress is currently shooting a TV version of Jack And The Beanstalk alongside David Walliams, while her fiancé is there to look after their five-month-old baby.
The couple met after they both swiped right on Tinder, and they worked together during lockdown to film the socially-distanced show, Isolation Stories.
During her TV documentary, Sheridan Smith: Becoming Mum, her fiancé opened up about the moment they first locked eyes.
Jamie said: ‘On our first date she was so timid, so sweet and nervous.
‘She came into this ram-packed boozer, an hour late. She walked in and literally she gave me this smile from across the bar and that was it.’
