Thirty new channels have arrived on free-to-air TV, and most Australians have no idea about it.
Samsung has released its own streaming service called Samsung TV Plus, which has been quietly rolled out on all Samsung smart TVs made after 2018.
The service is free to access, although Mumbrella claims it’s supported by advertising.

There’s a number of bizarre and obscure channels on Samsung TV Plus, including The Pet Collective, which covers viral animal videos.
Another channel, The Asylum, airs low-budget, direct-to-video sci-fi films.
The Asylum production company is best known for making the Sharknado films and television series Z Nation.

The service provides a variety of content, including music, news, sports, and movies.
You can access it by selecting Samsung TV Plus on your TV’s main menu or simply flicking through free-to-air channels until you get to the Samsung TV Plus options.
Australia isn’t the only market where Samsung TV Plus has been rolled out.
It’s available in 12 territories, including the U.S., Canada, Britain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Spain.
The service is to expand even further in 2021 to India and more European countries.

There are currently more than 35 free-to-air channels in Australia.
However, subscription-based streaming services have become incredibly popular in recent years.
Some of the most popular include Netflix, Stan, Binge and the reality TV platform Hayu.
