Nadia and Jimmy Bartel, once considered one of the AFL’s most glamorous couples, called it quits in 2019.
And on Friday, Nadia reflected on the ‘highs and lows’ of 2020 and her life as a single mother to their two sons Aston, five, and Henley, two.
Posting to Instagram, the fashion designer explained she was ‘grateful for her boys’ and said the past year had taught her to ‘appreciate the little things’.

She began her post: ‘2020: it’s been hard but also a special year for us all, one that we will always remember.
‘It taught me a lot. I am thankful for it all, the highs and the lows. I am grateful for everyone around me, my boys, my family, my friends, my work and all of you.’
She continued: ‘It taught me to appreciate the little things and live more in the now as life is too short.’

Nadia and Jimmy announced their separation on August 15, 2019, but they are believed to have actually split two months earlier.
Jimmy, who spent his footy career with the Geelong Cats, has since moved on with office worker Lauren Mand, while Nadia is dating personal trainer Nathan Brodie.
The former couple share custody of two children, sons Aston and Henley.
