- George was escorted by his father today as Kate battled morning sickness
All eyes were on Thomas’s Battersea this morning as the heir to the British throne arrived for his first day at school.
And wary that her photograph would be beamed out to the world’s, Head of Lower School Helen Haslem no doubt wanted to look her best.
The teacher opted for a dusky pink dress from LK Bennett as she greeted the young prince and his father the Duke of Cambridge – and eagle-eyed royal watchers noticed it bore a striking resemblance to an outfit of Kate’s.
The Duchess, who was unable to join George for his big day due to a severe case of morning sickness, wore a pale pink wool suit by Alexander McQueen during a visit to Adelaide, Australia in 2014.

And Ms Haslem opted for a similar number this morning, wearing a £250 L.K. Bennett ‘Amana’ dress in a pale pink hue.
The dress is suggested as an evening ensemble with its flared skirt, elegant V-neckline and fluted sleeves.
While it cost just a fraction of the price of Kate’s designer version, Ms Haslem’s dress today could also be a subtle nod to the Duchess’ favourite high street store.
The quintessentially British fashion brand has been a firm favourite with Kate since she shot to fame as William’s girlfriend and eventual wife.

The third-in-line to the throne was dropped off at the gates of the £3,000-a-term co-ed school this morning by father William as Kate was being cared for at Kensington Palace.
Kensington Palace confirmed George’s place at Thomas’s in March, surprising royal experts who had expected the youngster to follow in his father’s footsteps by going to Wetherby.
The palace said in a statement: ‘The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will send their son, George, to Thomas’s Battersea from September 2017 this year.
‘Their Royal Highnesses are delighted to have found a school where they are confident George will have a happy and successful start to his education.’
