Cindy Crawford matches wits with daughter Kaia Gerber as she plots her next move during an intense game of chess

Cindy Crawford has been enjoying some quality family time over the past year, during lockdown from the COVID-19 pandemic.

And the supermodel appears to have taken inspiration from a Queen’s Gambit binge for their latest game night.

She matched wits with daughter Kaia Gerber, as she plotted her next move during an intense game of chess Thursday, as husband Rande Gerber posted a snap of the moment to Instagram.

The 54-year-old and her daughter, 19, sat on the couch with the board between them, as Rande, 58, wrote: ‘Chess can be beautiful.’

Kaia posted the photo to her Instagram Story as well, writing: ‘We take chess seriously in this household.’

Cindy and Rande tied the knot in May of 1998, and they share daughter Kaia Jordan and son Presley Walker, 21.

She recently told Red Magazine: ‘Parenting is the hardest and most rewarding job. Rande and I made our kids feel included. If we had friends over for dinner, they sat with us and I think that’s served them well.’

The Fair Game actress continued: ‘They’ve always been comfortable being around older people and asking questions. What could I do better? Probably not offer help unless it’s asked for.

‘You want to do everything for your kids, but when I stand back and they come to me for advice, they’re more likely to listen. When I offer it unsolicited, it just annoys them.’

She also shared the secret to her successful marriage: ‘[It’s] friendship. With my husband, I feel even if we weren’t together, we’d be friends.

‘Of course, you have to have sexual chemistry, but our relationship is based on friendship and mutual respect.’

Cindy took a walk down memory lane Thursday, as she took to Instagram with a throwback from 1989 of her in the bathroom at New York City nightclub MK, captured by Ricky Powell.

It came after the photographer, who captured the punk and hip hop scenes of the city, died earlier this week at 59, the cause of death still unclear.
