When attending a Christian Siriano fashion show, you can expect the unexpected. And the American designer did not disappoint this afternoon at Pier 59.
For his spring/summer 2018 catwalk show, Christian not only delivered a beautiful array of colorful gowns and separates, but a message of love and equality.
‘I want to celebrate beauty no matter where you come from or what size you are. We are all beautiful,’ said Christian. The 31-year-old showed his beliefs by sending models of all sizes and men in women’s fashions down the runway.

Supermodel Coco Rocha opened the show in an electric floral brocade double twist-front blouse and electric floral brocade cropped trouser.
And while floral brocades might not be for everyone, striped denim separates and pleated tulle dresses dresses were also a part of his offerings.
‘My spring 2018 collection feels like a dream, almost a psychedelic hallucination of what’s inside my fantasy greenhouse,’ said Christian.
One love: In addition to plus-size models, men walked the runway in women’s clothes
‘I’ve used a bright color palette, including electric fuchsia evening looks, sunny yellow day dresses, and grass green suiting, said the designer. Midnight navy and black garments were also peppered into the collection.
‘The collection is playful, bold, and feminine: a perfect mix of something new and exciting for our customer.’
Consistently a champion for change on the catwalk, Christian sent models of all shapes, sizes and genders, in his elegant pieces down the catwalk.

Flouce gowns in a bevy of bright colors like green and fuchsia closed the show, with Coco taking the final walk.
In true supermodel fashion the 28-year-old strutted her stuff on the catwalk while stopping multiple times to pose, blow air kisses and connect with the crowd.
Christian took his bow to an uproar of applause. It’s feel good fashion at it’s finest.
