Tanishia Fielder, 32, was charged with aggravated assault and child endagerment
A woman has stabbed her newborn son in the face and claimed he is ‘the devil’s child’, according to police.
Tanishia Fielder, 32, was charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child in the bizarre attack on her one-week-old son on Friday in Swissvale, Pennsylvania.
The child has been hospitalized with an injury near the eye, and his condition is unknown.
Neighbor Darius Warren told CBS Pittsburgh that Fielder and the baby’s father had been arguing earlier in the day before the stabbing.
‘When the husband came out, I guess, he was holding the baby, running down, and the baby had blood in his eyes and stuff,’ Warren said.
‘[The father was] screaming “911, call 911,” so I called 911. Then when I asked the lady what was going on, she kept saying, “It’s Satan’s child, it’s Satan’s child” and all that,’ Warren said.

‘That just kept coming out of her mouth,’ the neighbor said. ‘I’m like, “Wow, that’s crazy”.’

Police recovered a black-handled knife from behind a dumpster near the home on the 7500 block of Melrose Street, and said Fielder had tried to dispose of it there.
According to the criminal complaint, Fielder confessed to attacking the infant, telling police: ‘I stabbed the baby. That was the Devil’s baby.’
Court records show Fielder has prior convictions for DUI, driving without a license, and harassment.
Neighbors said the violent outburst was completely out of character, however.
‘I never seen anything like that before, especially from her,’ Warren told the CBS affiliate.
‘I never would have expected that.’
