A man has been caught on camera trying to escape first-floor flat by walking along a parade of shops while onlookers call the police.
Passersby watched in disbelief as the man climbed out of a window above a KFC in in Paddington, central London, yesterday and walked along shop awnings before breaking into another window.
The man, who has been nicknamed Spider-Man, first appears at a window above KFC, then edges along above a Subway and several other shops while clutching a coat.
It is unclear exactly what the man’s intentions were but passersby were keen to contact police.

Trying windows as he goes, he eventually pushes a casement window above a noodle shop, the glass smashes and he falls in.
The person filming then shouts to another onlooker: ‘Someone call the police! If he comes out of the door we are stopping that c***.’
A second video taken from above shows police in attendance later, with cordons put around the shops.

The window the man climbed out of can be seen open with what looks like a white powder covering the sill.
People on Twitter joked that the man might be escaping an angry husband who had returned home.
One said: ‘I suspect he came out of the window at the start where the naked women is and a fast approaching husband up the stairs….’

Others joked that he hadn’t wanted to queue after the shops opened.
The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for comment.
