Heavyweight boxer Chisora will headline the weekend’s action at the Manchester Arena when he takes on New Zealander Joseph Parker for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight title.

Jonas, meanwhile, has the daunting task of facing undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor, who has put her WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO belts on the line along with her Ring female heavyweight titles on the line on Saturday night.

The two Britons will face their opponents back to back, with 36-year-old Jonas stepping into the ring just before Chisora at around 9pm.

Chisora, who lost to Oleksandr Usyk last time out at the end of October, faces Parker who is currently on a four-fight winning run.

But former WBO heavyweight title holder Parker has lost his last two fights on UK shores – both coming in 2018 to Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte.

The fight was recently put into doubt as Chisora threatened to walk away from Saturday’s fight after he lost a coin toss to determine whose ring walk would go out last.

The Briton’s manager, David Haye, went into Chisora’s hotel room to try and calm him down after the controversy, with Frank Smith of Matchroom Boxing also involved in the discussions.

Meanwhile, lightweight fighter Jonas comes into Saturday’s contest having won nine out of her eleven career fights. The Liverpool-born boxer drew against fellow Briton Terri Harper last time out, with Jonas’ only career defeat coming against Brazil’s Viviane Obenauf in 2018.

Irish boxer Taylor, on the other hand, has won all 17 of her fights, but only six of them coming from knockouts.

The 34-year-old last met Jonas nine years ago, when Taylor overcame her Liverpudlian counterpart in the quarter-finals of the London 2012 Olympic Games before going on to claim the gold medal.
